    What financial supports are out there?

    To encourage and assist pathways into home ownership in Victoria, there are a range of financial assistance schemes available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander homebuyers.

    Some of these schemes are specific to Victoria whilst others are available nationally.

    This list is not exhaustive and it does not make any commercial recommendation for the effectiveness or suitability of the schemes on an individuals personal circumstances.

    Dylan's Story

    Dylan Anderson is a proud Yuin man and home owner in Melbourne. Dylan bought a home through the Victorian Homebuyer Fund (VHF) two years ago and shares the ways the VHF opened doors that he thought were closed.

    Now on the owner's corporation of his apartment block, Dylan is keen to make sure there is Aboriginal representation in decision-making.

    Victorian State Government shared equity scheme for buying new or established residential properties.

    Indigenous Business Australia (IBA)

    Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) offers loans, with low interest rates and deposits, to buy property, land or build.

    Home Guarantee Scheme (HGS)

    An Australian Commonwealth initiative that reduces deposits.
